Summary by Elaine Prendergast
On Friday 29th January 2010 the staff and pupils at Wennington Hall School, near Lancaster, held a Fundraising Day for the Scottish Terrier Emergency Care Scheme (STECS). The day started off with a special assembly where the pupils learned about the work STECS does. Mrs E Prendergast, who organised the event, also brought in her two Scotties, Maeve and Fern, and her two Westies, Lillie and Bonnie. The audience learned a bit about the history of the Breed and the importance of caring for pets in general.
At break times the staff put on a variety of stalls consisting of cakes, quiche, homemade biscuits and scones. There was also a gift stall supplied by STECS. The boys enjoyed face painting, puzzles and various competitions. They also had a day where they did not need to wear their school uniform at a cost of 50p each. At the end of the fundraising event the grand total raised of £275 was announced in the final assembly.
Special thanks go to Marion and Roger Kimberley-Scott for all their help and support, particularly on their website - www.scottiedoglovers.co.uk.
The staff and boys had a fantastic day and thoroughly enjoyed the event.
